StyleDev - See What I See

Just came from the DIY U: Edupunks, Edupreneurs and the Coming Transformation of Higher Education book talk. These are the ideas it sparked for me.

1. Non-profits for moving the education system forward.
2. Mandate that companies support/fund the local schools around them.
3. Open Source Education site.

A little on the Open Source Education site. We need to build the educators and students a grade A site that will provide the tools necessary to gain popularity.

Features (first thoughts):

• Publish Content:
  • Upload cases, journals, notes, and ideas (from here on out “items”).
  • Tools:
    • Analytics
    • Peer Review
    • Reference tools (external & internal)
• Reference/Mix Content:
  • Quickly reference a whole item or portions within.
  • Automatic workflow:
    • Build index and appendix.
    • Create trackback to referenced item.
• Audit Content:
  • Make suggestions or comment on items.
  • Point out grammar and spelling mistakes.
• Ratings:
  • Allow Publishers and Auditors to earn points to reflect their overall work in the community.

These are just my initial thoughts on this. Please add to it as you see fit.
